How to Treat Dry Scalp Part 2

Rose Water naturally conditions because it contains Vitamins A, B3, C, D and E.

Rose Water has a pH level that is close to the natural pH level of the scalp. Therefore Rose Water can help in repairing damaged hair. Rose Water also has anti-inflammatory  properties reducing dandruff caused by fungal infections. Many believe that Rose Water promotes hair growth but there is no scientific research to prove that it does.

How to use Rose Water and add it to your wash day

1) SHAMPOO

You can add Rose Water to your regular shampoo and wash as normal.

2) AFTER-SHAMPOO RINSE

Take one cup of Rose Water and pour it all over your hair and do not rinse out. It will condition, add shine, and leave an amazing scent on your hair.

3) ROSE WATER TREATMENT FOR DAMAGED HAIR

  • 1 cup of Rose Water
  • Few drops of jojoba oil
  • 1 capsule of vitamin E oil

Mix these ingredients together and apply to wet hair and scalp. Massage your scalp for a few minutes and leave in your hair for no less than least 10 min, then shampoo and style as usual.

  1. My scalp is not dry, my hair is. I have low porosity hair. My curl pattern is similar to yours.
I deep condition once a week but my roots are always dry and my roots don’t curl, it poofs, lol
    I use the LOC method.
Can you please explain pre-poo to me. My logic is, I am low porosity and applying oil before I wash will wash out on wash day(next day). I am natural for 2 years now.
I will value your advise tremendously
    Thank you

    1. Hey Lorraine, please check out my Youtube videos on Porosity. I have 2 of them. One about products to use as well as the application of products. Deep conditioning is so important, and you are doing a great job. When applying your products add extra product to your roots, this can help with the puffiness.
Pre-pooing is the step before you cleanse your hair. You can use an oil, apply it to your hair. You can choose to detangle while prepooing. Leave the pre-poo on for at least 20 minutes. It prepares the hair for cleansing and adds a layer of moisture. I have a video on prepooing using Aloe Vera. You can also pre-poo with a conditioner. You do not need to use an oil.
      I hope this helps.
